Stage Right is hiring for the summer!

POSITIONS

Costume Directors (Full Summer Season)

The Costume Director will work closely with each Director to determine the style of the show.  The Costume Director will lead and supervise show interns and parent-volunteer committee to oversee costuming of each show.

Each actor is responsible for their own base costume as designated by the Costume Director (a base costume is typically; shoes, socks, undergarments and pants (when appropriate)).

Costumes may be; rented, purchased, borrowed or made and adjusted as needed.  The Costume Director will allocate budgeted funds towards the costuming of each show.

Requirements:

·      Must have theatre costume experience.

·      Must be organized and able to work independently.

·      Must be able to sew and have access to a sewing machine.

Hours:  Very flexible.  Must attend audition day one of each show.  Most of the costuming work will need to be completed prior to the end of June.  Changes, repairs and alterations will be needed throughout the run of each show.

Compensation:  A base stipend plus a percentage of the season net profit.

 

Musical Theatre Summer Camp Counselor

Dates:  This position runs from June 15 – June 30. 

Times:  You will be assigned either an AM or PM shift.

·      AM shift 8:00 am to 12:00 pm

·      PM shift 11:30 am to 3:30 pm 

Tech Dates (June 27 & 28) and Performances (June 29 & 30):

·      All Counselors are required to be there all day on the 27 & 28 (8:30 am to 3:30).

·      On performance dates, 29th and 30th the Counselors are required to be in attendance to assist with the running of the shows.  There are two shows each date, and counselor call time is 12:30 pm for the 2:00 pm show and 5:30 pm for the 7:00 show.

Responsibilities Include:

·      Supervising campers (ages 7-14) throughout their various centers (acting, dancing, music, etc…)

·      Assisting Artistic Staff by taking notes, and/or rehearsing cast members as directed.

·      Assisting with backstage production needs (ie: painting, construction, working on advertisements, etc… as directed).

·      Stage Managing and/or Technical assisting during performances.

·      Striking and Setting sets for transition from Summer Camp to ‘Steel Magnolias’.

·      Other tasks as assigned.

Compensation:  This is a stipend position

Summer Interns

The Stage Right Productions Internship program is designed to offer new and upcoming theatre professionals the opportunity to gain hands on experience in the areas of:  Stage Management, Prop Management, Marketing, Tech, Costuming and Theatre Management.

We are seeking two interns per show (Seussical, KIDS; Steel Magnolias; The Music Man).  Internship jobs begin with the audition process and will be completed after the strike of the assigned show (see summer calendar for details).

Requirements:

·      Must be at least eighteen and have 1 year of college (and/or 2 years of theatrical experience).

·      Must have secure and reliable transportation.

·      Must demonstrate an ability to think on your feet and work independently.

·      Must be responsible, reliable and considerate of the theatre process and those who participate in the process.

Compensation:  This position offers a small stipend (in addition to invaluable experience & training).
